Image of a type anatomy poster, designed by Carolyn Porter of Porterfolio, Inc. The poster shows a variety of letters with notes about their construction: terminals, shoulders, bowls, beaks, spines, ascenders and descenders, etc.

Whether it’s designing a typeface, consulting with corporate clients on issues of legibility and typeface choice, writing about type, or working on a type-centric design project, Carolyn is an advocate of exceptional typography. She even taught a class on type detailing at Letterform Archive in San Francisco.

In the coming months and years, Carolyn will be investing more time and energy in her love of typography. Stay tuned for future font releases and additional articles on type.
