Six sample pages from Boston Scientific's Watchman iPad App, designed by Carolyn Porter of Porterfolio, Inc.

When Boston Scientific wanted to develop an iPad app sales reps could use to educate physicians about their life-saving left atrial appendage closure device, they called on Carolyn to help.

This WATCHMAN™ iPad app included six sections:

The introduction addressed the question: Why WATCHMAN” (Answer: the one-time procedure reduces the risk of stroke by 5x!)

The product overview section outlined features of the WATCHMAN, and provided information on the access and delivery sheaths used during the implant.

The product specifications section included information on materials, device size options, indications for use, and ordering information.

The clinical data section included information on implant success rate, along with safety and efficacy data.

The video section included play-on-demand videos designed for implanting physicians, patient testimonials, and information on the left atrial appendage.

The tools for patients section included a video designed for patients, brochures, patient guides, and links to online resources (brochures designed by in-house Boston Scientific design team).
